Kush Arora aka Only Now packs cubist sound design and heavyweight, tribal minimalism into "Blind Time", his most intense work to date.
"Void Body" opens with breakneck velocity, a manic bout of tense reductionism that shifts into ruthless sub-bass heat, searing, syncopated rhythms and a hallucinatory sense of reversal. As with Arora’s recent output as Only Now, unexpected details emerge, as the track culminates in a passage of atmospheric guitar work that evokes the more expressive end of black metal as well as the hallowed heyday of 4AD.
"Eternal Hunt" reprises the use of elements found on the previous, acclaimed Only Now release "Eternal Binding". Choral emanations sift into the ether, establishing a haunting interlude of modern kosmische musik that could just as well be a compelling curio from West Germany circa 1982 as it could an immersive, futuristic production from the Bay Area circa 2019.
The title track and conclusion to the EP, "Blind Time", is a riot of subverted dancehall and virulent noise. A metal dance of percussion hits with laser guided precision as Arora lays down a brutal onslaught of claustrophobic low-end, eventually attaining a contrasting, suspended sense of release.
“Blind Time” is the latest, highly anticipated release from Kush Arora’s Only Now project. Comprised of material that has been gestating for an extended period, the tracks that feature here have been tested and refined at select live performances over the past year. Echoing the themes of time and corporeality that have become the project’s focus, “Blind Time” witnesses Only Now moving beyond classification and further out into unchartered territory.

This is pure power, distilled through the perfect blend of raw kuduro, heavy industrial techno treatment, and unrelenting propulsion. Sinister, snakelike, and almost subliminal melody. Only Now
catch contributions form Only Now/ Sutekh Hexen on this. Assuming their ultimate and ghastliest form, Abstracter return with their most astonishingly telluric, bleak, and hopeless album to date. Only Now
definite collection of some of the best and most refined Kuduro/Lisbon sounds out there. Some moments of pure beauty, and definitely the intro and more piano driven tarraxo joints are must listens. Only Now
